New Zealand is one of the best places in the world for both adventure & hydrology. New Zealand has glaciers, mountains, beaches, fjords, volcanos... it's a landscape ripe for adventure. But New Zealand also floods.. a lot. In a matter of hours, the torrential rainfall would make the 10 New Zealand rivers we crossed on our way to the Stafford Hut virtually impassible - (Previous AH Episode). So we had two choices: 1. Push for the hut, potential safety, and hope the rain didn't wash the trail away, stranding us alone in the rainforest for days. 2. Run... run for our lives. Guess which one we chose? Adventure on foot. From one side to the other, Chris was the only person there... and hiking is the best way to explore Vail.
